This row features one trellis in the center of the row, upon which climbers love to cling. Cucumbers, beans, melons, peas, winter squash, etc. On the south side of this bed, we plant non-climbing, sun-loving items like bush beans, carrots, beets, turnips, zucchini, determinate tomatoes, eggplant, basil, etc. The north side gets shade lovers like lettuce, beets, arugula, radish and Asian greens. Items like kale, fennel, leeks, swiss chard and such don't care where you plant them :-P
